A slightly different Poole photo to this one, where some of the students are in different positions (though all of them are in the photo) was published in the Cork Examiner on Friday, 1 August 1924. The caption read: "IRISH CLASSES AT ST. DECLAN’S COLLEGE", and underneath it said: "Students at St. Declan’s College Ardmore, Co. Waterford, an Irish-speaking district, where well-attended Irish classes for teachers have been held all this month. Many familiar faces will be seen in this group, as they are all well-known and popular teachers from the South of Ireland. (Poole, Waterford)."

In the 1911 census, there are 6 E. Perkinseses. I like Earnest, who is a Marine Engineer living on a house ship in the port of Dundalk.

Bob Mockler was the Dublin Captain on the day. I was at Croke Park yesterday - still very disappointed by the result.

Collins and Boland(Chairman, Dublin County Board and Sinn Féin TD for Roscommon), though great friends, found themselves on opposite sides in the Civil War which would claim both of their lives within a year. Mockler Played for Tipperary in his early career and Dublin later on. Note it was a Seventeen man game then!!!. We have come across Mr Mockler before. Robert "Bob" Mockler (born 1885) was an Irish hurler who played as a midfielder for the Tipperary and Dublin senior teams from 1909 until 1924. Mockler made his first appearance for the Tipperary team during the 1908 championship and was a regular member of the starting seventeen for the next few seasons. He subsequently enjoyed a decade long career with Dublin before retiring from the game after the 1924 championship. During that time he won three All-Ireland medals, five Leinster medals and one Munster medal.[1] Mockler captained Dublin to the All-Ireland title in 1920.
