Looks like something that escaped from the old National Lampoon.

This is a lame, misguided depiction of primitive humans. By the time early homo sapiens lost most of their body hair, (and these three appear to have almost none except perhaps pubic hair in the groin region), they began wearing animal skins and other forms of clothing to cover up the titillating parts and "naughty bits". That was a matter of practicality and a logical, rational reaction to the naked human form. The part that baffles me is why a bad, ill-conceived piece of supposed art such as this exists in the collection of the Library of Congress, and how it got in there in the first place. Very simply it is bad art.

this is a fabulous depiction. i thought he was an allegory for naughty things. while the women cook avacado toast. by todays standards this is sexist or simply division of labor. he does art where they are stuck what they gathered... a primitive version of Grape Nuts. the painter is creating the first meme ... a deer with the humoruous UG UG. in fact he is the first librarian but he creates and puts it on rock 2 for reference. taking from the mel brooks missive called history of the world they are the first critics. notice the women much lower on the canvas as the men. subservient or focused on the possibility of rapid death that awaited these critters. naturally the first troll... lived in the cave. moments later monkey brain was consumed and we became truly human as well as when the lizard and ufo people bred w hoomans in egypt. that is all. long live LOC before it is digitally burned down and all fake information purged.
