Quite a beautiful photo of a beautiful house.

Google maps gives an Elmhurst Road, but it is not very near Bournemouth and this house is not on it.

UCD have a collection of correspondence of a Dr. William Frazer, who was a hobbyist in historical and archaeological stuff.

The Bournemouth Daily Echo of- Saturday 4 October 1902 carried an legal notice of an application to license a building for stage plays. William Frazer M.D. of Elmhurst, Bournemouth, is named.

Dr Frazer of Elmurst had one daughter , Elsie Mary, who married Mr Edgar Grotrian of Wetherby, Yorkshire on on April 27th 1905. (Gentlewoman - Saturday 20 May 1905)

Dunwich The ferries, barges, and water taxis from the mainland arrive at Dunwich on the western side of North Stradbroke Island. This old settlement was first established in 1827 as a convict outstation. The shallow waters of Moreton Bay made shipping goods up the Brisbane River difficult and ships arriving (most of them from Sydney) would off-load their supplies at Dunwich. In turn, the good would be ferried across to the mainland and up the Brisbane river in vessels with shallow draughts. In these early days, the township of Dunwich was no more than a large warehouse and quarters for the convicts employed to load and unload the produce. Lantern slides are positive transparent photographs made on glass and viewed with the aid of a “magic lantern,” the predecessor of the slide projector. Lantern slide plates were commercially manufactured by sensitizing a sheet of glass with a silver gelatin emulsion. The plate was then exposed to a negative and processed, resulting in a positive transparent image with exceptional detail and a rich tonal range. Lantern slides were used for home entertainment and public lectures, and they were displayed in photographic exhibitions. Alfred Stieglitz made lantern slides throughout the 1890s. He published numerous articles on how to create more effective lantern slides and he frequently exhibited them at camera clubs and in photographic exhibitions. There are no examples in the Key Set.
