The location... www.flickr.com/photos/powerhouse_museum/2780552186/ I gather the SLNSW pic might have been taken from Carillon Avenue - ie. the opposite view to the one seen in the PHM Kerry & Co photo...you can't get the same view that we see in the SLNSW pic today...more recent buildings are in the way...plus the spire on the central tower and the witches' hats on the 4 corner spirettes have been removed...and it looks as though quite a few other alterations and additions have been made to the building as well...

Possibly one of the later model Short Sunderland flying boats operated by TEAL (Tasman Empire Airways Ltd) in the late 1940s and early 1950s...the motor on the right is a good match...the starboard wing float appears on the edge of frame rhs. Possibly the same aircraft that appears in pic 4 of this series...
