Whoa! It occurred to me to wonder if the marriage records could tell us anything now they are searchable, and the answer is Yes!

Here is the Registrar's record of Elizabeth Moran marrying Arthur Henri Poole on 22nd October 1884 at the Registrar's Office in Waterford.

The very next record on that page is Anne Joseph Moran marrying Edward Henry Hughes. Anne and Elizabeth are recorded with the same address and father - they are sisters and had a joint wedding.

So Mrs. Poole and Mrs. Hughes are sisters, with Mrs. Hughes the elder by 3 years. Mr. Hughes is recorded as an artist, as is Mr. Poole.
