For interested parties, here is St Mary Magdalene's church at Wisemans Ferry depicted in a lovely painting at SLNSW.

Australian National Maritime Museum on The Commons Wonderful painting - trying to find exactly where this church was in Wisemans Ferry. I think "J.O.M." is "I.O.M." as in Isle of Man! King Williams College (1833) - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_William's_College . I wonder if Edward Hungerford was a pupil there? The chapel on the right; see the window match at original size -

The Wiseman's Ferry Church fell into disrepair by the 1880s, was demolished in 1888 by the "Roads Department", and rebuilt higher on the hill. See trove.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/article/72558896

beachcomber australia Thanks Beachcomber - Isle of Man - of course! The little church at Wisemans Ferry looks almost as if was meant to add to the landscape as a romantic ruin. Although the 'new' one is just as sweet: www.hawkesbury.net.au/activities/c16.html There are two passenger records for an E Hungerford (b c 1863) that I could find, one onboard the POTOSI, arrived 17 July 1882 in Sydney from London and 24 June 1884 on the AUSTRAL , London - Sydney. Perhaps these vessels sailed via Tonga and New Zealand at this time.
