Rock fishing in Queensland

Rock fishing has the added bonus of the greatest view in the world, with endless rolling waves and you feel like part of nature. It does not matter what time of year you go, as rock fishing is good all year round. Rock fishing is very tactical as it involves tidal calculations. Check your tide as it's important to know the difference between a small high tide and a big high tide. This can impact what area is or is not fishable at certain times. Fishing from the rocks can be as simple as using a running sinker rig with the sinker sitting on top of the hook. Varying the size of your sinker to match the current is one basic technique you should apply. Accessible areas to rockfish on the Sunshine Coast include Double Island Point, Noosa National Park, Point Arkwright, Yaroomba, and Pin Cushion. The best baits are pilchards, squid, slimy's, bonito, and fresh mullet. Source: www.couriermail.com.au/news/queensland/sunshine-coast/tot...
