P.S. Fógra: Our curator of photographs here at the National Library, Elizabeth Kirwan, is looking for some help. She hopes to identify the women in this Liberty Hall photograph, and to establish the date it was taken. It's been languishing rather unloved here for almost 13 years. The fourth son, Vincent James O'Connell, was an architect ... Architect and engineer, of Earl Street, Dundalk, active from the first decade of the twentienth century until 1950 or later. Vincent O' Connell, fourth son of Henry O'Connell, grocer, of Dundalk, and his wife, Mary, was born in Co. Louth in 1882 or 1883. He became a pupil in the office of of HAGUE & amp; MCNAMARA in Dublin(1) before setting up in practice in Earl Street, Dundalk, in 1906 or earlier. He was appointed engineer to the Newry Port and Harbour Trust in 1910 in succession to JAMES BARTON (2) and had opened a branch office in Newry by the autumn of 1911.(3) He married after 1911, when, according to the 1911 census, he was still living as a bachelor with his parents in Earl Street, Dundalk. He works for the Royal Liver Friendly Society.

His daughter niece Mary is a clerk there.

I think this is probably the office staff on an outing, and Mary may be here.

The clean shaven man seated 3rd from our right looks rather like the young woman at his feet... Tim and Mary?

WATERFORD ROYAL LIVER SOCIETY STAFF. PLEASANT SOCIAL EVENING.
The annual inspection of the Waterford District of the Royal Liver Friendly stuff took place on Thursday last. The visiting deputation consisted of Mr. R. Shepard, of the Committee of Management, and Mr. Dempsey, of the Irish Sub-Committee Following the inspection, the entire staff, including the deputation, were entertained by the Manager, Mr. Tobin, at his residence, No. 10 William street. A photograph of the party having been taken in the pretty garden attached to Mr. Tobin's house. they adjourned to the dining-room. where 25 guests sat down. to a sumptuous repast.
