The original size of this is ENORMOUS, and THETIS is written on the bow. I thought it might have been the CAPTAIN COOK (1), the Pilot Steamer.

The State Records NSW blurb - "The pilot steamer Thetis, built in 1868 for the New South Wales Department of Public Works. In 1871 the Thetis was placed in temporary service as Sydney's Pilot Steamer until 1877."
The blurbs for this particular Series at SRNSW are notoriously inaccurate, so let's see if we can improve on the history of this wonderful ship ...

Big thanks to Australian National Maritime Museum on The Commons for sharing the Edward Hungerford Album on Flickr. And to Edward Hungerford for collecting the photos together in the first place!
