I think this may be it - the next point east from the actual Glebe Point - the twin-gabled house is still there, but others seem to have vanished for some reason - goo.gl/maps/ya67e . The wonderful houses would have a great view of the abattoirs, including sounds and smells

I believer this is the Eastern side of what became Garden Island (mainland) If I recall correctly, from 1965 to 1975, the two buildings were still standing and being used. A small Signals office was directly behind the furtherest building.

How things change over the decades. I would never have recognized these building because although still standing (at least they were in 1975) they are or were somewhat in need of a make-over.
