    My father was a hard diver in the 1950s, and we have a lot of old photos of him like this (climbing ladders, or on deck with a helmet being lowered into place). This warms my heart.

    I gather this pic (below) might have been taken shortly before the Mariposa departed from the US...
    - SMH, 19th July, 1934...item re the authorities moving to stop Kingsford Smith using the name 'ANZAC'...
