Dale Radio telegraphy must have been a huge leap forward back in the day. The contemporary newspapers via Trove mention the MERSEY as being one of the first sailing ships to be fitted with it, and also electric light. Can't remember on which MERSEY photo I posted the links ... !

The jackstaff has a small tree to take the antenna feed back into the wheelhouse. Almost the same as the good Count's Seeteufel
