The ferry in the middle is Lady Hampden built 1896. From Wikipedia: "Part of the Balmain New Ferry Company fleet until that company's takeover by Sydney Ferries Ltd in 1918. Requisitioned for naval use in 1942. Sunk as target."

I say this site is Farm Cove, Sydney. The sandstone outcrop on the left is Mrs Macquarie's Point (and Mrs Macquarie's Chair). The clock tower (built c1889) also seen left, is on GPO Sydney, Martin Place. Photographed from Fort Denison? This small photo (1 Mp) could do with a bit of enlargement.
