And I reckon she is the ORIENT even more now! The bridge / wheelhouse looks just like -

And I am 90% sure that lifebelt says "ORIENT GLASGOW" (see note). Apologies - getting too EXCITED. It is great to see all the detail of this wonderful ship so close up - the sailors in the bosun's chairs, the fellow scaring seagulls, etc, etc !!

beachcomber australia Ha! I did forget. I knew I'd seen a much closer comparison - I didn't think of looking in my own collection!

This photo seems to be almost a panorama with - ... but with different ships in the foreground.

I am fairly sure that is the ORIENT in the foreground (forewater?!). The two slightly-raked funnels, arrangement of ventilators, masts with spars and gaffs, and the white walls with portholes - all seem to match the ORIENT photo -

Australian National Maritime Museum on The Commons Yes! Not quite a panorama, but you can see the intention - Doubly sure that is the ORIENT.
