Side of three storey Tenements up a hill

    This shows St John's Hill running up hill. The first entry of the left is Robb's Entry. the small entry in front of the whitewashed outhouse is the back alley to the rear of buildings on Robb's Entry and to the rear of buildings on St John's Hill which continued to the left just where the small boy can be seen under the lamp.

    The West side of North Richmond Street. The pend is shown as Richmond pend on OS 1893. The Abbey Picture House is shown as a Synagogue with seats for 350 in 1893.

    Not immediately obvious but these shops are flat roofed ground floor extensions onto the building behind. Next to the fence structure on the right edge of the photograph is the chimney sweeps business on Richmond Place.
