Photograph taken from the workshops and yards which were located on the Pleasance prior to Bernard Terrace being altered from a cul-de-sac to a straight through road onto St Leonard's Street in 1929. Spiral of St Peter's Church on Lutton Place can be seen in distance.

On the right edge lower side the tenement on the corner of Bristo Place and Teviot Place can be seen. The line of Lothian Street is now a roadway. See the link for a 1960s view from where the photograph was taken.
