Bain's photo is cropped from this better-preserved image, now in the collection of the Imperial War Museum. Its caption:"Pre-War Life in Brussels - A portrait of nurse Edith Cavell as she sits in a garden with her two dogs. The dog on the right, "Jack" was rescued after her execution."

It seems the Museum also has the stuffed "Jack" himself..
