"PRINCESS CHIMAY DIES IN HOME HERE; The Former Mrs. Rutherfurd Stuyvesant Aided Charity Drive in 1st World War" from NYT of July 11, 1948 (needs subscription) select.nytimes.com/gst/abstract.html?res=F40811F63F59157A... "During the first World War, the former Mrs. Stuyvesant was treasurer of the American Fund for the Charite Meternelle [sic] de Paris." Rutherfurd Stuyvesant was already dead by that time. {Note: the correct name for the charity is Charite Maternelle de Paris.} From www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=21850289 "Matilda Elizabeth Loewenguth was the daughter of Joseph Loewenguth of Herrenwald, Alsatla. She was the widow of a Dutch Count. Countess Matilde Elizabeth De Wassanaer (nee Matilde Lowenguth) married Rutherfurd Stuyvesant on 6/16/1902. She was his second wife, as his first wife, Mary Pierrepont (married 1863) died (during childbirth) in 1897 without children" There is plenty more information in her Find-a-Grave record an at her husband's: www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=14841584

The woman on this photo is not Mrs. Rutherford Stuyvesant, it's May Palmer Depew, the wife of Chauncey M. Depew (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chauncey_Depew).
As I searched for photos of Mrs. Rutherford Stuyvesant in the newspapers, I found one (in The Salt Lake tribune., July 20, 1913, Second News Section, Image 13), but it has not much similarity, but another photo on the same page has: this of Mrs. Depew, with the same hair jewelry. The same photos are in The Washington herald., July 20, 1913, Page 5.
Other photos of May Palmer Depew, e.g. in The San Francisco call., March 16, 1902, Image 3 prove that not the newspapers mixed up the photos, but the Bain agency.
I presume that this photo was taken long before 1915. There are other Bain photos of Mrs. Depew which had been taken later, p.e.

I wonder if the picture in the magazine is one of her father Sir Henry Wylie Norman?
