Wife of Baron von dem Bussche-Haddenhausen, who was a German diplomat. See for example, NYT of Dec 1, 1903,

when he was First Secretary of the German Embassy in Washington.

This is not Gabriele von dem Bussche-Ippenburg IMO. According to the Evening star., October 31, 1903, Page 5 (with photo), the Baroness in the Bain photo was a native from Argentina (Gabriele von dem Bussche-Ippenburg was from Dresden, see familypedia.wikia.com/wiki/Georg_von_dem_Bussche_Haddenha...)

She was the former Maria Eleonore Martinez de Hoz (1875–1957), see de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hilmar_von_dem_Bussche-Haddenhausen, in German.

@B-59: I agree. www.wikitree.com/wiki/Von_dem_Bussche-Haddenhausen-7 indicates that Georg and Hilmar were brothers.

beachcomber australia It is long, but 8 feet is a wild over-Guestimate. No prize for you today.
