    The building on the left is now an art gallery called Gallery on the Green (http://www.galleryonthegreen.com). About 15 years ago, shortly after I first moved to DC, the Library of Congress produced a poster of this photo. I gave a copy to the gallery when we were there on vacation, but I haven't been back since to see if it is hanging anywhere.

    arty smokes is true. this picture shows how technology doesnt create a beautiful picture. its an artform and possibly one of the most difficullt ones to master.

    The " Lord Edward" Public house or Thomas Cunniams as it was known then is the only building left standing....the furthest building on left. It was built in 1900. Streetview
