Robert Lesti No they don't - a bit grim, in fact! But maybe that was shyness or the sense of occasion...

They are very serious looking but all four are quite handsome. The poor bridesmaid looks frozen as the dresses look to be made from a very light material.

John Spooner So 1899 is not wildly out then? And I'm assuming R.C. was Roman Catholic - you wouldn't specify religion in an ad nowadays!

In April 1894 they were looking for a 'stylish Millener, R.C. and good Saleswoman'' The ad for a dressmaker appeared again in Agust 1894, so presumably the successful applicant in 1892 had moved to pastures new. Still expanding in January 1897 DRESSES; Leonard Bros, Belturbet, require a pushing Salesman, RC, of good appearance and address, for their Dress Department; give full particulars at once. Address 8502, Freeman Office.
