    Located in King George Square, Brisbane City Hall is 'the People's Place' of Brisbane. For the past 80 years City Hall has been the backdrop to many of Brisbane's cultural, social and civic events. Brisbane City Hall was re-dedicated to the people of Queensland in 2013 after closing for a historic three-year restoration and repair project. City Hall is open seven days a week with lots of interesting things for visitors to see and do. Visitors can take a free guided tour of the building, view the changing exhibitions at the incredible Museum of Brisbane on Level 3, and ride up the 87.5-metre high clock tower in a restored historic lift. City Hall has regularly scheduled events in the main auditorium, many of which are free to the public. The Museum of Brisbane also has many free and ticketed events for adults and children.     This is now the Adare Manor Hotel. From the website it looks like you can still have afternoon tea in this room - the decor has been updated a bit, but the fireplace is still there, with vases on the mantel. (I can't link to a photo, but it's the first under "dining" in the photo gallery".

    Extract from the Manufacturer's Report. We made a large quantity of China from the Clay. The Clay came to us with all its impurities. It was washed and the Mica taken from it and used without any of the careful processes of preparation to which our English Clays are subjected. Taking this fact into account, the results were surprisingly good. We see no reason why Clay Works should not be erected in Ireland as we are confident that the Clay is of considerable value. Note: Josiah Wedgwood the great Potter in giving evidence before the House of Commons stated that the English Potters obtained their Clay from Devon, Dorset, Cornwall and the Irish Coast
