In those days this was the only one as far as I know).

The train cannot enter a single-track section without a token. The fireman puts his arm through the hoop while on the move, or simply swaps it with the signalman. Are they going up the down line or down the down line backwards?

I'm guessing it was some form of gauge or template used to check minimum clearance from constantly invading tree branches. (but those regular 'flaps' on top and bottom dont seem to offer any function)

Great to see the castle from this side, almost impossible to see from here nowadays. This is a shot I took of the boathouse last year during the snow with the castle barely visible even with no growth on the trees.
