"Two foreigners found sketching outside the Royal Field Artillery Barracks have been arrested at Kildare and are still in custody" (Belfast Telegraph - Monday 10 August 1914). Not the only people to be arrested that week for 'acting suspiciously with an odd accent'.

One of the few bits of the barracks still standing: Magee Terrace on Streetview The NIAH lets us down today, no dates.

Discover Celbridge page: From the avenue, another of Celbridge’s important houses can be seen: Donaghcumper, former residence of the Kirkpatrick family one of whom played a significant diplomatic role during World War II and its aftermath. I'm guessing they mean Ivone Kirkpatrick, British High Commissioner for Germany after WWII.

Earliest date - The Post Office on the left is "c. 1911" according to arrow.tudublin.ie/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1001&co... The women coming out of the PO look 1915-ish to me. Long dresses and the beginnings of cloche hats. A later reverse view shows different, more elaborate telegraph poles, and more creeper on the tower.
