  Gas lighting was not new in 1900, electricity was already replacing it.

  I am amazed that the buildings have survived; in this old photo they look like the original dark satanic mill (William Blake), full of lead and gas poison, and ripe for demolition. Does anyone know what happens there now? It is about to be Barangarooed !
