There's a gasometer on the 25" on Pierhead Road in Ferrybank, but no gasworks. Gasworks are on Harbour road on the south side.

I am amazed that the buildings have survived; in this old photo they look like the original dark satanic mill (William Blake), full of lead and gas poison, and ripe for demolition. Does anyone know what happens there now? It is about to be Barangarooed !

I agree with 'beachcomberaustralia' - definitely from St Philip's Tower. Interesting that the AGL site is still controversial in 2011 - over who has to pay for the cleanup before Barangaroo can proceed!
