Wonder if this has something to do with these very old stables in Millers Point - investigator.records.nsw.gov.au/asp/photosearch/photo.asp... (not yet on Flickr)

I expect Frederic Wilkinson recorded the date and time of this too. I am guessing it was February / March 1920. The MEGANTIC made just one trip to Australia, bringing home returning servicemen - trove.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/article/15867280 . She was built in 1908 for the UK - Canada run, survived torpedoes in WW1, laid up in 1933 - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SS_Megantic_(1908)

beachcomber australia Thanks Beachcomber, we thought it would be about 1920. I am sure Wilkinson noted a date for this one too - he seems to have been quite meticulous - but it must have been lost along the way.

It docked in Sydney at ANZAC Bench, Wooloomooloo, and disembarked returning serviceman, but also war brides from the UK, my grandmother, Margaret Olwen Hughes, was one such. .I think this was the only WW1 war bride ship from the UK to Australia.
