PITTSWORTH WEDDING.
KNOX—DONOVAN.
St Stephens Church, Pittsworth, was the scene of a charming wedding yesterday morning and one that cre ated much interest in that district. The bride was Miss Lillian Josephine Donovan, daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Donovan, Pittsworth, and the bridegroom Mr James Patrick Knox, son of Mr and Mrs J. Knox, of 'Monkira,' Pittsworth. The church was beautifully decorated with white lillies in honour of the bride's name, and' the bride, with her bridesmaids, formed a picturesque group under a wedding bell of white lillies which was suspended from an arch of greenery. During the ceremony Miss Dute Mac kintosh, a girl friend, sang an 'Ave Maria' most artistically. Miss Alice Harvey, presided at the organ and Mr Wehners assisted with his violin. The pretty bride who was given away by her brother, Mr. John Donovan, made a graceful picture in her wedding robe of ivory satin, with an overdress of ninon edged with hand some lace and adorned with buttons. The bodice with kimino effect, was draped over a collarless vest of Ma deira lace edged with silver and was finished at the waist with a tiny frill and girdle of silk cord. Her tulle em broidered veil was arranged with a Juliet cap and coronet of orange blossoms--and hung in soft folds over her charming toilette which was completed with a beautiful Granny posy compos ed of choice white flowers surrounded with glace silk and lace and arranged with trails of bebe ribbon, cord and silver tassels, the whole being veiled in tulle. The bridegrooms gift was a necklet of peridots and pearls, and the bride's gift to the bridegroom was a set of silver brushes. Two bridesmaids attended the bride, Miss Violet Dono van (sister of bride), ' and Miss Tottie Knox (sister of bridegroom.) They were dressed alike. in charming frocks of cream crepe de chene, with tunic skirts opened at each side and edged with lace. The bodices were arranged with net yokes outlined with a silk frill and finished at the waist with a tiny frill and girdle. Their white droop hats of straw and Valenciennes lace were lined with crimson and adorned with crimson poppies which, with their gold crooks arranged with red carnations, roses and asparagus fern, tied with broadly crimson stream-era, gave a bright touch of colour to their creamy frocks. The bride was also attended by a tiny train-bearer, Miss Esme Gallagher who made a sweet picture in a white silk frock and Quaker bonnet. She carried a small, basket of white lillies and roses, tied with white bows and streamers. The bridegroom presented the bridesmaids with pretty enamel watches and to the little train bearer he gave a gold curb bangle. Mr. Donald Mackintosh (jnr.) was best man and Mr. Thomas Donovan was groomsman. After the ceremony a reception was held at the bride's residence, 'Green-dale.' The bride and bridegroom re ceived congratulations standing under a wedding bell of white lillies in the bay window of the drawing room, after which the bridesmaids who were standing on each side, pulled the streamers attached to the bell, and a shower of confetti fell over the happy pair. A champagne breakfast was served on the enclosed verandah, the tables being beautifully arranged with mauve pink, and white sweet peas. The lovely three tier wedding cake oc cupied a prominent place and was ornate with emblems of pastoral pur suits in honour of the bridegroom. The usual toasts were honoured and later Mr. and Mrs. Knox left in a much be-ribboned motor for Cambooya where they caught the mail train en route for Noosa, where the honeymoon will be spent. The bride travelled in a smart frock of pale blue shantung piped with apricot and black and a San Toy hat of white chip with black brim wreathed with pink bebe roses. The many handsome presents includ ed a case of cutlery presented to the bridegroom by the firm of McPhie and Co., of which he is the Pittsworth manager; and a marble clock and case of silver tea spoons presented to the bride by the choir of St. Stephen's Church, Pittsworth, of which she was a member. Mrs. Knox (mother of bridegroom), wore a handsome toilette of black striped crepe de chene over glace and a chiffon toque with touch of blue; -Mrs. Sherman black palette, with hat en suite; Miss Knox, grey silk crepe grey hat with pink roses; Miss Sherman, grey striped silk voile, grey and white hat, with cluster of black and white lace and blue berries; Mrs. Gallagher (aunt of bride), black satin and hat of black ruckled chiffon; Miss O'Sullivan, cream voile and black hat with cerise roses; Miss Mclntosh, saxe blue ensemble, rickshaw hat with pais ley silk; Miss Bowdon, pale blue shantung and pale blue hat. Father Ryan, Messrs. Gallagher. Marnel, Harry Knox and Lynch were also amongst those present.
