    The shadow of the chimneys and dormer windows of these houses were noted before by pellethepoet on this "c.1910" photo of the Kindergarten across the street. Which means the houses survived for quite a while after 1901.

    Museums of History NSW - State Archives Collection There is a photo in your collection titled 'Unidentified passenger liner berthed at Dalgety's Wharf, Millers Point (NSW)' which shows the same event.

    Though unidentified it does have the correct date of 8 May 1903.

    It may be of interest that the Medic, of the White Star Line, was involved in a controversial famous prank in 1900, perpetrated by Charles Lightoller, who later went on to be the most senior surviving officer of the ill-fated Titanic.

Many of the architectural features of the wharf buildings are similar to those of workers' family cottages which were also built in Millers Point around this time after the bubonic plague induced demolitions. The cottages still exist today as NSW state government owned public housing

I thought this might have been at one of the new finger wharves in Walsh Bay, but no, Dalgety's and the White Star Line wharves were on the west side of Miller's Point.
