    Dr. Edwin Carman's wife, Florence Conklin Carman, was accused of murdering a Mrs. Lulu Bailey in Dr. Carman's office, in Freeport, June 1914. She was tried twice: the first trial ended in a hung jury, the second in her acquittal. He died in 1939, age 71.

    Elizabeth Carman was the 9-year-old daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Edwin Carman; she testified in the 1914 inquest into the death of Lulu Bailey, which took place in the Carmans' home, and for which Mrs. Carman was to stand trial.

    Elizabeth Carman was the 9-year-old daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Edwin Carman; Mrs. Carman was on trial for killing Lulu Bailey, and Elizabeth testifed at the inquest in the summer of 1914.
