Miss Elizabeth Simon, a cook in the Tatum household, testified in a society divorce case involving Jack Ottman, Dr. John C. Tatum and Mrs. Mary Jane Tatum, of Great Neck LI, in January 1915.

Thanks Wystan. According to the Hartford Courant (Oct. 25, 1914), Justice Charles S. Kelby was the judge in the trial of Mrs. Edwin Carman for the murder of Lulu Bailey. We will add his fuller name to the image description.

Celia Coleman was the maid who testified that she heard her employer Mrs. Edwin Carman confess to killing Lulu Bailey. Miss Coleman's intellectual capacity and memory were questioned on the stand--she was not able to add numbers or say how old she was, which was taken as reason to doubt her reliability as a witness on other matters.
