This photo depicts Jefferson Monroe Levy (1852-1924), who owned Thomas Jefferson's house and farm, Monticello, from 1879 until 1923. He was a New York attorney who served three terms in the House of Representatives. J.M. Levy had (after many complications) acquired Monticello from the estate of his uncle, U.S. Naval Commodore Uriah Phillips Levy, who had bought it in 1836. This is almost certainly Mrs. Idalia Ide, who played the role of Annie Pepper in the "suffragette opera" performed by a mix of amateurs and professionals at the Waldorf Astoria ballroom in February, 1916. query.nytimes.com/mem/archive-free/pdf?res=F2091EFB3B5B17... She is probably also the vocalist who recorded a song for Victor in 1913: victor.library.ucsb.edu/index.php/talent/detail/10105/Ide... In 1920, Mrs. Idalia L. Ide, widow of Robert L. Ide, a broker who had died 4 years earlier, married Morin S. Hare. She was described as the daughter of the late Louis Leavy.
