The two men in the photo are his entire crew; he was also traveling with his wife and a "motion picture photographer." (Mrs. Cosgrove wasn't along for the long stretches; she planned to take more traditional forms of transport to meet the Captain along the route.) Can't find much about whether they made it, or how far they made it...
