A nice 1970's image. I find it interesting that the adult male is also wearing "flares". Where I come from he would have been considered an old guy trying to look young.

Fascinating stuff... at first I thought the photo was taken in the 1930s, then I noticed the boy is wearing bell bottoms!

Absolutely love this. Street photography at it's peak. "Oi, tinker. Fancy posing for a few minutes while I get set up and if you don't mind, put your best menacing face on?" . I could imagine doing that now with a couple of grands worth of stuff strapped to your back in the current climate?

This photo appeared in Hardware World for April, 1916, in an article about Ada Schilling with the title "Lack of Physical Strength No Obstacle to Feminine Achievement". According to the article, she was 4'11" and weighed 95 pounds. She had been trap shooting for 3 years and had many trophies, including "lady championship of California and the Pacific Coast." books.google.com/books?id=pC86AQAAMAAJ&pg=PA96&lp... In this 1917 newspaper article, she encouraged other women to take up the sport, and is also identified as being from Portland, Oregon: news.google.com/newspapers?nid=1144&dat=19170623&...
