Great photo, the engine is an 0-6-0, the typical British-style goods engine for many years.

Patrick Castelli Any input on the sign? Was that gradient, maybe?

Does look like a very cold day from the billows of smoke... neat old B&W!!! Thanks for sharing... 1960 was a good year!!! This is the date that Pear Harbor was bombed back in 1941 which was a horrible day in history!!!

I'd say there was many a good story told in that group? That looks like a big spanner - the one in his hand not the man himself!!!! If he turns too quickly the man on the left will let him know what he thinks of him when he gets his breath back (if ever)!

Swordscookie Methinks I'm the spanner for tagging that tool as a wrench! :D

I think Broadstone is now used by Dublin Bus...

Joefuz, it has been for many years. At one time it was a national hub with the Royal Canal having a spur and basin nearby. Barges, buses and trains all operating from there and so close to the city centre must have made it a hive of activity. There was a repair depot attached to the station and accessible up further towards Phibsborough.
