  Wherever this photograph was taken, it wasn't at Central. The wooden building in the background indicates that it was taken at a suburban or country location.

  pmh_100 I agree, there were not any wooden buildings like this at Central Railway station.

  This is the Governor-General's Carriage, which was occupied by the newly appointed Queen Elizabeth II and her husband, Prince Phillip during their 1954 tour.

  I remember it well as a 9 year old spectator with my parents and younger brother as part of the crowd on the eastern side of the cove. Rather exciting way back then.
