Information via correspondence with a member of the public: The person holding the hand of Queen Elizabeth II is ... Louis Le Breton who was Station Master, Bathurst. The photo depicts the moment when he is introduced to her and he welcomes her to Bathurst. The Queen complemented him on how beautiful his Railway Station was kept. He had many healthy plants about the station and kept an immaculate Railway Station.

This pic was taken on 10th May, 1927 at a public reception given for the Duke and Duchess of York at Parliament House, Canberra...the public reception took place the day after the Opening of Parliament ceremony...at the public reception the Duke and Duchess stood on the steps of Parliament House whilst the Canberra and district notables and other citizens filed past. trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/223614198 - the Sydney Sun, 11th May, 1927...there's a pic here which looks to have been taken ?moments earlier.
