Hi, I'm an admin for a group called Social Documentary Photography & events, and we'd love to have your photo added to the group.

I still cant get over the no shoes thing, honestly blows my mind

I own plenty of shoes- but when I'm visiting my father in the south, I never wear any. Feet are tougher when they aren't always protected. That said- I'm real glad I own shoes- it's good to have options.

lol, good luck with that, I'm from Baltimore, but i currently reside in the Atlanta Chattanooga area, which is reffered to as 'The New South,' and hardly see people barefoot anymore, lol, but when i do its kinda like the equivalent of seeing someone wear suspenders without a shirt, or no shirt at all....guess its just one of those things

Yeah, Dad's in central FL- probably "The Old South". And shoes in summer? only if you are also wearing a suit. Then again, I wouldn't think twice about seeing a guy with no shirt :) Suspenders with no shirt would be weird, I agree.

A wagon for more cotton!

I only found out this year that cotton grows on bushes I still can't get over that I thought it was made from something else.

My parents' childhoods.

Not really bushes Katie Rowe, more like bushy plants similar to beans. I just traveled through the coastal area of S TX and saw lots of cotton fields. Once in Arkansas, my father stopped the car, led me out to a field like this, showed me how to pick a boll of cotton and said "Now that's the LAST time I ever want to see you do this." I was probably 3 or 4 years old.
