The former Laura McDonald Stallo (1890-1972), daughter of lawyer Edmund Stallo and Laura Beatrice McDonald (d. 1895), granddaughter of Ambassador John Bernard Stallo and oil baron Alexander McDonald. Laura and her sister Helena both married European princes on the promise of their status as oil heiresses; but when the money was less than expected, and what they did inherit was lost to bad management, both sisters were divorced, and left with little to live on. Helena died from cancer at age 38; Laura's daughters were Francesca (1921-1998) and Camilla (b. 1922). The former Aimée Crocker, wife of Alexander Miskinoff. She was divorced from A. Miskinoff in 1916 and married Prince Mstislav Galitzine in 1925.
