"Cosima Wagner, born Francesca Gaetana Cosima Liszt (24 December 1837 – 1 April 1930), was the daughter of the Hungarian pianist and composer Franz Liszt. She became the second wife of the German composer Richard Wagner, and with him founded the Bayreuth Festival as a showcase for his stage works; after his death she devoted the rest of her life to the promotion of his music and philosophy. Commentators have recognised Cosima as the principal inspiration for Wagner's later works, particularly Parsifal." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cosima_Wagner "Marie ("Mimi") Baroness (from 1879: Countess) von Schleinitz (from 1886: Schleinitz-Wolkenstein) (22 January 1842, Rome – 18 May 1912, Berlin) was an influential salonnière of the early German Reich in Berlin and one of the most important supporters of Richard Wagner." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marie_von_Schleinitz Anton Karl Simon Graf von Wolkenstein-Trostburg (* 2. Of course this photo was taken long before 1915. According to commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Cosima_Schleinitz.jpg it was taken around 1890 at the Bayreuth Festspielhaus (upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/b3/Festspielhaus...)

B-59, thanks for the additional information. I'll ask to add their full names to the catalog record. The building behind them is clearly not the Bayreuth Festspielhaus, but it's possible it's a building nearby. If someone can find another reference to the location we might be able to add that information.

Jon (LOC P&P) Why do you think this is not the Bayreuth Festspielhaus? It fits perfectly IMO; compare with this detail:

from this photo: upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/b3/Festspielhaus...
(You can see the window better here, but the original picture is taken at the right corner of the building:
where the window is partially concealed by the awning.) -

My apologies B-59. I didn't look closely enough at the entrance. I will ask to add Bayreuth Festspielhaus in the description of this photo.
