I've been going through the LOC photos, and what makes them so fascinating are all of Wystan's comments and links. Looking at the right side of the photo, it appears to have been taken from the upper level of a city bus. The sidewalks look jammed. Easter parade was obviously a big deal then. And people showed off their cars as well as their finery.
