The street name on the lamp-post at left is "5th Ave." The plaque at the corner reads "Garfield National Bank and Garfield Safe Deposit Company." The 1912 Olympic games were held in Stockholm, Sweden, from late June to late July. This event in New York City, on August 24, must have been part of a "welcome home" ceremony, for recognition of returning American athletes, and a celebration of their achievements.
