This is definitely Union Square in New York City, specifically near the corner of Union Square East and East 17th Street. The building in the background in 200 Park Avenue South.

@rjones0856: like you, I was making conjectures about the location of Bain's office, as I browsed the 35+ shots tagged "Union Square." Sure enough -- Bain was at 32 Union Square. His address appears on the supscriber contract form:
