Fire rescue work (LOC)

Same location as this photo, the National Cloak & Suit Company building. According to the NYT, the National Cloak and Suit Company occupied "the entire west side of the block on Seventh Avenue between Twenty-fourth and Twenty-fifth Street" in New York City. A look at Google Maps' Street View confirms that it's this location, 250 Seventh Avenue, currently a Whole Foods store. There is also an October 10, 1912 story about city-wide fire drill exercises the previous day, one of which took place at the building, so this picture could have been taken on October 9, 1912, unless there other fire drills of this type taken in other years.

This is definitely Union Square in New York City, specifically near the corner of Union Square East and East 17th Street. The building in the background in 200 Park Avenue South.

Seems that a lot of the "day in the life" pictures are made around Union Square -- I wonder if the Bain office was in the neighborhood?

Taken during the great New York City heat wave crisis of July, 1911.

@rjones0856: like you, I was making conjectures about the location of Bain's office, as I browsed the 35+ shots tagged "Union Square." Sure enough -- Bain was at 32 Union Square. His address appears on the supscriber contract form:
