    From the framed print version, some more info on Gay: "Inscription lower right: "Edward Gay, Jan. 1907." Identification on accompanying label (typewritten): Edward Gay (1837-1928). Gay was born in Dublin, studied in Karlsruhe, Germany, and became a landscape artist of some renown. Gay, Edward, 1837-1928"
