The USS New York (BB-34) and the USS Texas (BB-35) were the two battleships of the New York-class. Taken perhaps in 1915 (see Evening public ledger., May 11, 1915, Night Extra, Image 16, with photo) or 1916 (Daily capital journal., November 24, 1916, Page 6, col. 6, "Great Crowds Gathering"), when the two battleships (among others) anchored in the Hudson.

According to NT of Jan 6, 1917 query.nytimes.com/gst/abstract.html?res=9E02EED71438EE32A... these two ships were based at the Navy shipyard in early 1917.

This photo must have been before or after World War One, I'd guess, however, given that both ships are really illuminated, which I don't think they would have been during wartime.
