A picture of Nevada with tugs on either side may be from the same occasion. It ran in The Sunday Oregonian. (Portland, Ore.) July 26, 1914, with the story: "Launching of Dreadnought Nevada The dreadnaught Nevada, of the United States Navy, was launched at the yard of the Fore River Shipbuilding Company in Quincy. The Secretary of the Navy attended. The Nevada is a sister of the Oklahoma, launched at Camden last March. They will be more heavily armored than any other ships yet built for our Navy. The Nevada will carry ten 14-inch guns and many smaller guns. Her displacement Is 27,500 tons, her length 582 feet, her beam 95 feet. She will burn oil for fuel and turbine engines will give her a speed of 20 1/2 knots." oregonnews.uoregon.edu/lccn/sn83045782/1914-07-26/ed-1/se...
