    This image is mirrored. It is a bow view, so the island should be to starboard, not to port. It is also USS Lexington (CV-2), not Saratoga. Lexington had angled sides on the radio direction hut suspended beneath her windowed fighting control top, and her searchlights on the starboard side of the stack were up a level compared to her sister, whose lights were in-line with the aft director platform and had straight sides on her RDF hut. The list, I think, is the inherent list these ships had if they were not ballasted with fuel to port to compensate for the weight of the island, stack, and turrets. This is very early - possibly while still on the east coast in early 1928. It is that year, regardless.

    This is the result of hangar fires started by five bomb hits and three kamikazes on 21 February 1945.
