This is USS Lexington (CV-2). She has no vertical funnel stripe - but is operating with a Pensacola-class cruiser. The Pensacolas only entered service in 1929-1930, so by the time either of them was in the Pacific, Saratoga would have had a vertical stack stripe. I believe this is 1931-1933, and that the cruiser is Pensacola (CA-24) herself - but the details are indistinct so it could be her sister Salt Lake City (CA-25).
