National Library of Ireland on The Commons I could not agree with you more. There is a Rosa Frederica Grubb (65) in Clogheen in 1911 - possibly this mans Mother? she is described as a "Female Farmer" (not too many of them to the dozen in 1911!!) www.census.nationalarchives.ie/reels/nai003292386/

There could be a connection with Howard Grubb of Irish telescope fame. The Parsons giant telescope is on www.flickr.com/photos/nlireland/8392017304/in/photostream/ The firm of Grubb Parsons made telescopes in Newcastle upon Tyne.

Maybe The Irish Times? Ambrose Congreve was born on 16 January 1832.3 He was the son of John Congreve and Hon. Louisa Harriet Dillon.2 He married Hon. Alice Elizabeth Dillon, daughter of Robert Dillon, 3rd Baron Clonbrock and Hon. Caroline Elizabeth Spencer, on 26 July 1866.1 He died on 15 March 1901 at age 69.
