Skiff on Sydney Harbour, probably participating in Anniversary Day Regatta

The useful date "26-1-99" implies this was the Anniversary Day (now known as Australia Day) Regatta. The flagship was the 'Koenigin Luise' 1896 (North German Lloyd Company), moored off Neutral Bay out of shot to the right. Read all about it - SMH 27/1/1899 p.5 - trove.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/article/14197303 . Perhaps a photo of the 'Koenigin Luise' will turn up in the series?

I think it is a sailing boat in front not a "motor launch"! Can anyone red the name of the ferry? 8 letters beginning with 'B' ... ?

beachcomber australia A good example of why not to copy and paste - thanks picking up the slip in the title. I like to think we give you plenty to do Beachcomber! The images has been passed to our ferry expert at Sydney Heritage Fleet so will keep you posted on the verdict!

It's Burra Bra - easily identifiable - name is in the white and forward of the portholes.
