Orange Julep, Route 9, Plattsburgh, New York (LOC)

"First opened in 1956, this unique roadside fast-food joint was originally located at Cumberland Head corners near Gus' Red Hots. A year later the entire restaurant was disassembled and moved piece by piece down North Margaret Street where it was re-built opposite the present day McDonald's. The Julep quickly became a North Country favorite and featured michigans, it's very own signature drink, and car hop service for patrons. In 1970, the iconic Plattsburgh eatery was even featured in a national magazine focusing on fast food restaurants. The Orange Julep was demolished around 1979 and only the empty parking lot where the restaurant once stood remains today."
