In 1914 the Harvard second eight won the Henley: www.thecrimson.com/article/1968/3/15/history-of-harvard-s... www.thecrimson.com/article/1914/10/23/student-council-off... The older members of the 1914 team went to war soon after the victory. Oarsmen on that team that were still there in 1915 were Henry Stump Middendorf of Baltimore, and Henry Hixon Meyer of Kansas City. Meyer went on to earn a law degree; Middendorf became a banker.
